Our Awards

Polonez has been honoured by many people, organizations and levels of government over it's 25 performing years. The following two awards are the highest achievement of any Polish folk dance ensemble, in Canada or abroad, and represent the culmination of years of hard work and artistic excellence.

The first ever official invitation from Poland to an ensemble outside of Poland to do a performing tour in Poland - a major artistic success.
The Polish Ministry of Culture recognized our achievements and acknowledged that we were artistically capable of competing with other well-known folklore ensembles thriving in Poland. It was a thrill to have been the first Polish ensemble from abroad to be invited and honored in such a manner

    Mazur Dance
    Choreographed to the music of Moniuszko's opera "Straszny Dwor" as a finale in concert.

  • November 20, 21, 1998 - Winspear Center
    Mazur Dance choreographed to the music of Moniuszko's opera "Halka" as finale in concert (Magnificent Master Series).

  • October 8, 9, 1999 - Winspear Center
    Goralski Dance choreographed to the music of Karol Szymanowski's "Harnasie" as a finale in concert.

  • June 1, 2001 - Winspear Center
    Polonez Dance Choreographed to the music of Kilar as the opening piece in concert.
